About The Chiehub

The Chiehub publishes plain-English guides to choosing, using and caring for the things people buy — from embroidery machines and yarn to pickleball paddles, chargers and seed trays. Each guide answers what someone starting out actually needs to know, in the order they need it: what the terms mean, how to choose, how to use it well and how to keep it working.

There are 49 guides across 20 sections today.

What we cover

We write about everyday gear and the supplies around it, organised into sections such as Electronics & Tech, Clothing & Accessories, Beauty & Fragrance, Health & Wellness, Sports & Fitness. Our guides come in a few familiar shapes:

  • Beginner's guides and how-tos — step by step, with the mistakes that usually go wrong.
  • Explainers — the jargon on a spec sheet or label, in plain words.
  • Buying frameworks and comparisons — the questions that decide which type suits you, rather than a single “best” product.
  • Care and troubleshooting — how to make things last, and what to check when they don't work.

Browse them all on the sections page or use search at the top of any page.

How a guide is made

  1. Start from real questions

We pick topics from what people ask before and after they buy, and from the problems owners run into most often.

  2. Research the sources

We read manufacturer manuals and published specifications, guidance from standards and safety bodies, and what brands publish about their own products.

  3. Write it plainly

Every guide opens with a short answer, then explains the details with tables, steps and checklists you can use while you shop or work.

  4. Check and review

Numbers, model names and claims are checked against their sources before publishing. Health, pet and child-safety topics carry clear cautions and point to a professional where it matters.

Editorial standards

Every guide on The Chiehub follows the same rules:

  • Researched, not hands-on tested. We say so on every guide. We don't claim lab results, testing hours or personal use we haven't done.
  • Facts about a brand come from the brand. Model names, sizes and specifications are what the maker publishes; we don't invent features, prices or discount codes.
  • No fake reviews or ratings. We don't write testimonials, star ratings or “winner” badges that aren't backed by a source.
  • Safety first. Where a mistake could hurt someone — electrical, chemical, medical, children or pets — we say so plainly and recommend expert advice.
  • Plain language. Jargon is explained the first time it appears, and the short answer always comes first.

Independence

Stores and brands never see a guide before it's published, and they can't pay to be included or to change what a guide says. Some links on this site are affiliate links; the disclosure page explains how they work.

Updates and corrections

Products change, specifications get revised and standards are updated. When a guide changes in a meaningful way, we update it and show an “Updated” date in its byline. If we get something wrong, we correct it in the guide rather than quietly removing it.
